Signing Up for FTP Hosting Service (Optional)

VP Backup allows you to upload your data off-site for more secure storage.  If you do not have a remote FTP server available, we recommend CyberLynk. To sign up for this service:

1. Open Internet Explorer and access the CyberLynk site in one of these ways:
1. Type http://ftphosting.orthoii.com in the text field of your bowser's address bar. Or,
2. Click the FTP Hosting Service sign up link that appears on the VP Backup Wizard welcome screen (described later in these instructions). Or
3. Open your VP Backup Service application (described below) and click the {Help} button on the toolbar.  Then select the {Sign Up for FTP service} option.
2. Enter ViewPoint as the [Promo Code] for free setup.
3. Select an appropriate [FTP Hosting Package], described below, based on the amount of disk space you anticipate you will need. Remember to account for the additional directories you plan to backup, and the number of times a week you plan to run the backup.

4. Make the following selections.  Note that we have set it up for you to conveniently be billed by :
   
                
5. Enter your billing information as directed. The fields marked with asterisks are required for CyberLynk’s records but will not be used for billing, as the billing will be done with your Ortho II SSA.
6. Provide login information: Choose the Username and Password you wish to use to log in to your hosting account.
7. Check the information you submitted to complete the registration process. You will receive two e-mails from CyberLynk: One message one thanks you for signing up, the other contains instructions for managing your FTP server account.
8. Record the following information in a safe place as you set up your FTP accounts:
   
   • You will need to create a user. Record the username and password somewhere safe.
   
   • You will need to create a folder. Record the name of this folder here:______________________
   
   •  When you are logged into the FTP Control Panel, you will find the FTP Alias and FTP IP below the navigation bar along the left side of the page.  You will need these to direct your VP Backup to this location.
