Delete a Process

You can choose to delete a process from your VP Backup Service protocol, while leaving the remaining processes intact.  For example, if you no longer use a directory you were backing up, you can delete that directory backup process from your VP Backup Service protocol, while still backing up your ViewPoint databases and other directories without interruption.

Please note that when you initiate the VP Backup Wizard, ALL existing backup processes are DELETED, and new processes are put into place according to the responses you provide for the Wizard.

To delete a single backup process:

  1. Open the VP Backup Service application.
    1. If the ViewPoint icon ( ) appears in the status area of your taskbar, usually the lower right-hand corner of your screen, double-click the icon to open the VP Backup Service application.
    2. If the ViewPoint icon ( ) is NOT on your taskbar, you must first activate VP Backup Service, then double-click the icon.
  2. Click the process name that you want to delete. You may then delete the process on one of these ways:
      1. Press the [Delete] key on your keyboard.
      2. Click the {Delete} icon on the toolbar.
      3. Right-click the process name and select {Delete}.
      4. Select {Processes} then {Delete} from the menu at the top of the screen.

Remember, you must have a file upload process at the bottom of your processes list in order for your backup files to be stored in a safe location.
