Create Patient Contracts

Use the Contract Editor to set up new patient financial contracts with a set contract fee (i.e. treatment fee) and structured payment plan.

ViewPoint Videos - View a video about this topic. (See "ViewPoint Videos" for details.)

Get Started

Click to OpenContract Editor Properties - Use the Properties button at the bottom of your Contract Editor window to select the default contract class(es) and late fee for new contracts, as well as indicate the "path" to take while creating new contracts. See "Set Up Contract Properties" for details.

Use This Feature

  1. Click to OpenVerify Treatment Phase - Open the patient folder, and verify that the Patient tab has the correct status and treatment selected: ViewPoint tracks patient findings, financials, and insurance details by treatment phase, so it is important to verify this information before continuing!

  2. Click to OpenLaunch Contract Editor - You can open this feature in multiple ways: Use the method that's most convenient for you.

  3. Click to OpenEnter Contract Details - Verify the treatment phase for this contract, then enter the treatment fee and payment plan. When you have finished entering information on one window, click the Next or Back button to progress through your contract "path", or use the tabs at the top of the Contract Editor (or press Alt+the underlined shortcut key on your keyboard) to select the section to work with.

  1. Save - When you are satisfied with the contract details, click Finish at the bottom of the window to save your changed contract and exit the Contract Editor. If any of the contract fee is unallocated, the Finish button is not available to you. New contracts are listed in the New and Changed Treatment Fees section of your Transaction report.

More Information

Click to OpenNext / Finish - When you are finished with a tab of the Contract Editor, click Next at the bottom of the window to continue to the next tab in your "path", or click a tab at the top of the window. You can also press the Alt key and the underlined shortcut key to go to additional tabs and functions of the Contract Editor. If the entire contract fee has been allocated, you may also click Finish to save any changes and exit. If some of the contract fee is unallocated, the Finish button is not available to you.

Insurance Arrangements - The financial arrangements and treatment dates that appear on the Insurance tab of the patient folder print on insurance forms, but they are NOT linked to the Contract or Findings tabs of the patient folder. Therefore, when you change critical information on the Contract or Findings tabs, be sure to change the information on the Insurance tab as well.

Multi-Task - While you are working with the Contract Editor, you can click on any other part of ViewPoint to review information or perform other tasks. For example, while you work on a patient's contract, you are able to pause to schedule an appointment or check someone else's balance, all while leaving the contract open.
