Your subgroup criteria determines which records ViewPoint will include or exclude in your search. You may choose to subgroup by any combination of data fields, and save the criteria in a template to be used again and again. Or, you may select temporary subgroup criteria to use for a single print job.
Go to the ViewPoint subgroup feature. You automatically go to the subgroup feature when you generate a report or form for a Subgroup. Or, you may click Tools & Utilities then Subgroup Design from the ViewPoint main menu.
Double-click
a subgroup template name in the
box at the left, or click New from the subgroup
toolbar to select new subgroup criteria.
Define the subgroup criteria by selecting the fields to include or exclude.
Review the existing template summary, if available.
Add criteria to your subgroup.
Edit subgroup criteria.
Use Advanced properties to rearrange the order and importance of your subgroup criteria.
Enable / disable report header - Enable the option to include the subgroup criteria in the header of a report that you generate with this subgroup. If this option is disabled, the report header will include the subgroup name, but not specify the criteria.
Other options:
Select the subgroup template to work with.
Create a New
subgroup template to use now, or to save for future use.
Modify
the Properties
of an existing template. You may instead double-click
or right-click on the template
name to access the properties settings. You may then modify the template as needed.
Cutand paste a subgroup template from one folder to another.
Audit the selected subgroup template.
To create a subgroup for a single
report or form print job, use Properties
to modify an existing template, but specify it as [Temporary].
The ViewPoint subgroup feature attempts to be inclusive then evaluating data. For example, when generating a report, you choose to subgroup by Responsible Party Last Name: SmithANDResponsible Party First Name: John. When evaluating records, the ViewPoint subgroup feature will first try to do an inclusive get of the data. In this instance, you would get patients with a responsible party whose name is John Smith.
As you add and edit criteria, the parameters available to you will depend upon the type of data field you have chosen. For example, if you choose to subgroup by a Date field, ViewPoint will ask you for the date(s) to include or exclude from your report or form.
The subgroup option, "Tx Findings All Phases" allows you to search all patient findings, regardless of your patients' current Phase of treatment. By contrast the "Tx Findings" subgroup option searches only the findings for your patients' current treatment phase.
