Your ViewPoint Data Tools provide you with the means to correct data errors and define certain system-wide settings. Certain tools are recommended for monthly integrity checks of your database. Many of these tools can alter and/or destroy data: In most cases, you should only execute data tools at the direction of an Ortho2 representative.
Contact Ortho2 - Before using any data tool, we strongly recommend that you contact Ortho2 for complete information and requirements regarding the tool you want to use.
Backup your system - Make a complete backup of your ViewPoint system before running any data tool to protect against any unanticipated loss or errors resulting from running the tool.
ViewPoint main menu > Tools & Utilities > Data tools.
Heed warning - Review the warning message about running data tools. If you are sure you want to continue, click Ok.
Select tool - Your data tools can be found on several tabs: Select the appropriate tab, then choose the tool you want to run.
Execute tool - Click Run to initiate the data tool. Carefully consider and answer any prompts as the tool is running. If at any time you are unsure how you should answer a prompt, cancel the tool and contact Ortho2.

Review data tool history - Click View Log to review the history of data tools run on this database.
Print history - Click Print to print the history of executed data tools.
Check database integrity periodically - Click Select Recommended Monthly Tests, then Run those tests to check for errors and omissions in your database.
