Add Treatment Plan Records

Use the treatment plan to record medical concerns, prepare the treatment course, and list other issues related to the treatment planning process for your patients. You can add records to any section of the treatment plan at any time, and create multiple plans per patient. You might use multiple plans, for instance, to separate phases of treatment, or to offer multiple courses of treatment to your patients.

Records Are Permanent - As soon as you finish the final column of a new treatment chart or plan record, you create a record that cannot be deleted! You may exit a new record you have not yet completed by pressing the Esc key on your keyboard, or exiting the patient folder before you tab out of the final column of the record. After 24 hours, you cannot edit the text of the record, although you can still change the way the text looks.

Click to OpenAdd a Treatment Plan to a Patient Folder

  1. Click to OpenOpen a Treatment Plan - ViewPoint toolbar > image\buttxcht.gifTreatment Plan. If a patient record is already active, that patient's information will be loaded automatically. Otherwise, you use Fast Find (either typing information or swiping a registered reward card) to search for the patient to work with. (You can also open the treatment plan from the Add-Ins menu of the ViewPoint shortcut menu. See "Patient Treatment Plan" for details.)

  2. Click to OpenSelect Plan to Work With - If the patient has multiple treatment plans, select the plan to work with, or create a new plan as needed.

  3. Click to OpenAdd a New Treatment Plan Record - Right-click the style heading you want to work with, then click Add Row. A new record is added to the bottom of the selected style, ready for your input. If you do not see the style you want to work with, that style may have been added to your system after this treatment plan was created. In that case, right-click anywhere in the treatment plan and select Add New Style.)

  4. Click to OpenEnter Data - The way you enter data into a treatment plan column depends on the type of column you are working with. After finishing a column, you can press the Tab key on your keyboard to advance to the next column, or click in the column you want to work with next. When you reach the final column, press the Tab key once more to permanently add the record to the patient folder.

  5. Click to OpenFormat Text - Right-click to apply special highlight colors or to cross out the text of a column.

  6. Save - Press your Tab key after the final column of a treatment plan record to permanently save the record.
