You can customize the way your images look in VP Imaging and your printed montage, and add SmartCeph traced ceph images to VP Imaging.
About Advanced Settings: All VP Imaging advanced settings are saved in the Ourimaging.ini file, found in the "Path to Images" folder defined by your VP Imaging properties. To configure advanced settings, you must edit this file. If you are unfamiliar or uncomfortable editing program files, please contact Ortho2 for assistance.
You can change your VP Imaging layouts to fit your needs. For example, you might want to add a ninth image in the center of the photo layout, or display four images across the top row instead of three.
Examine Current Parameters: The default layout that displays on the [VP Imaging] tab of the patient folder is listed as [Layout1] in the Ourimaging.ini file. You can have as many [Layout] sections as you need to accommodate all your image sets. All the parameters that determine what the layout looks like are listed under the [Layout #] section. For example, we know that in the original [Layout 1] section, the width is 409 pixels when you add up all images and empty space between. We also know that our images are 121 wide x 160 tall.
Determine New Parameters: Using what you know about the existing [Layout] parameters and what you want the end result to be, you can use simple math to figure out what your new settings should be.
Example:
Let’s imagine we want to have four images across the top row of [Layout
1] instead of three. We want all other images want to remain the
same size and in the same location.
Using simple math, you can adjust the number and shape of the images.
From the [Layout 1] settings, we know that the width currently is 409
pixels when you add up all images and empty space between. We also
know that currently our images are 121 wide x 160 tall.
If we were to use 15 pixel spaces between each image, that would mean
we would first need to subtract 45 from 409 (15 x 3 spaces = 45). Thus
– 409 – 45 = 364.
Now we will want to divide that 364 pixels evenly amongst our four
images. 364 / 4 = 91.
Now we want to figure out how tall that would make those images in
order to make them in proportion to what they currently are. We
can cross multiply and divide for this: 121/160 = 91/x.
We can multiply 160 by 91 (14560), then divide that by 121 to get 120.
That means our new images will need to be 91 wide x 120 tall.
We can now work out the math to figure out where each of the images
will need to start, and how tall they will need to be. If we do
15 pixel spaces between each image, the first image will start at 0.
If we add in the 91 pixels wide to an additional 15 pixels, image 2 would
need to start at 106. We would continue doing this.
Your resulting layout in the Ourimaging.ini
file for your first four images would look like this:
[Layout1]
name=Photos
image1=01
image1height=121
image1width=91
image1top=0
image1left=00
image2=02
image2height=121
image2width=91
image2top=0
image2left=106
image3=00
image3height=121
image3width=91
image3top=0
image3left=212
image4=00
image4height=121
image4width=91
image4top=0
image4left=318
You can add new layouts to VP Imaging to fit your needs. For example, you might want to add an extra pano, or perhaps a new series of photos.
Add New Layout: You can simply add another [Layout] section to your Ourimaging.ini file and include the parameters you need. If you add a layout in the middle of existing layout sections, be sure to re-number all your layouts accordingly.
Example:
For example, to add a third panorex image to your patient folders, you
could insert a [Layout 8] section that looks like this:
[Layout8]
name=Panorex 3
image1=23
image1height=205
image1width=410
image1top=40
image1left=10
You would then want to make sure to change the numbers of all layouts
that would occur after this layout in the series to be one number higher,
to avoid conflicts.
You add SmartCeph images to VP Imaging the same way you add other layouts. Simply add these layouts to your Ourimaging.ini file:
[Layout5]
name=Traced Lateral
image1=80
image1height=295
image1width=368
image1top=0
image1left=20
[Layout6]
name=Traced Lateral Ceph
image1=81
image1height=295
image1width=368
image1top=0
image1left=20
[Layout7]
name=Traced Lateral Photo
image1=82
image1height=295
image1width=368
image1top=0
image1left=20
Keep in mind that you would want to adjust the layout numbers according to where you want them to fall in the sequence of layouts, and make sure to adjust the numbers of any layouts after that one in the series.
