Receipt of Payment

You can generate a receipt of payment for your patients in a variety of formats. In addition, you may choose to email receipts to responsible parties, rather than printing them.

Get Started

Set Up Electronic Receipt Format - Use the General and Receipt tabs of the Form Email Setup tools to set up the format and contents of receipts you email to responsible parties. If you do not offer electronic receipts, you can ignore these settings. See "Set Up Form Email Options" for details.

Enable Electronic Correspondence - Enable / disable the electronic correspondence option of the Responsible Party tab to choose whether to send appointment cards and payment receipts to the responsible party's Email1 address, rather than printing them. Electronic receipts are only sent to responsible party email addresses that you have enabled for electronic correspondence. Receipts are not emailed to patient addresses, even if you have enabled the patient for electronic correspondence on the Patient tab of the patient folder. Run This Form

When you post a credit card payment, ViewPoint generates a receipt automatically. If you use VP Signature to sign the receipt, the event is recorded in the patient and responsible party correspondence histories.

You can generate payment receipts for transactions that have already been posted to patient accounts. These receipts will not be saved to the patient or responsible party correspondence history.

  1. Open the FormClick to Open You can open this feature in multiple ways: Use the method that's most convenient for you.

  2. Form SettingsClick to Open Select the options to use for choosing records and generating this form. Not all settings are available for all formats.

    If you have enabled electronic correspondence for this party, these options are overridden by the settings in your Form Email Setup editor. See "Set Up Form Email Options" for details.

  3. Manage Record Selections & Output - After selecting the form options, click Ok to continue to your output choices. See "Manage Record Selection & Output" for details. If you have enabled electronic correspondence for this party, the form will be emailed immediately, and will not be printed.
