Get Started with HR Manager

Your HR Manager requires a certain amount of set up to work properly.

• Confirm you use a supported operating system- Microsoft Windows Vista Business, Windows Vista Ultimate, or Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 2 or 3).

• Confirm Microsoft .NET Framework - Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (available for download from www.microsoft.com/net/) is required for HR Manager. If you would like to see what, if any, version of Microsoft .NET Framework you have currently installed, you can check Add/Remove Programs.

  • Manual download - Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 is available for download. Simply visit www.microsoft.com/net/.

  • Auto-Download - Alternately, the first time you launch HR Manager, Windows will detect if you do not have the framework installed and automatically direct you to a download page. Then, once you have Microsoft .NET Framework installed, staying current on your Windows updates will ensure you have the necessary service pack (SP1).

• Change ViewPoint CD key - Each workstation that runs HR Manager needs an updated ViewPoint CD Key. Your Ortho2 support representative will help you enter the correct code.

• Create employee merge letters - You can use mail merge to send personalized correspondence to employees from the HR Manager. You might use this feature to generate holiday party invitations, annual review summaries, policy booklets, and accident reports. Any document you merge for an employee is automatically added to their Document Archive.
