Use SmartCeph
Use SmartCeph cephalometric tracing tools and analysis options to trace your patients' lateral cephalometric images, analyze the results, and plan and present your case.
Important - The use of this software requires that it be administered under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional who has expertise in the interpretation of the appropriate analyses. The software does not identify the presence or absence of any clinical diagnosis and must be used in combination with other diagnostic aids and clinical experience to form a diagnosis.
Calibration - Calibration is the process of relating the image on the screen to a standard measurement such as millimeters or inches in order to make accurate measurements. If you have configured SmartCeph to calibrate using millimeters, you will be prompted to calibrate at the beginning of each trace. Otherwise, the measurements are calculated according to your DPI device settings. Generally, calibration is performed when you first trace a ceph and recalibration is not necessary. If, however, recalibration of the ceph or the facial photo is needed, you can use the Calibration tools to realign the images. See "Calibration" for details.
Tracing - While tracing a patient's lateral ceph, SmartCeph calibrates the image, and guides you through all the structures and landmarks needed to fully digitize the ceph to comply with your selected analysis. You can position and rotate structures, place specific points, use ribbon bar tools, right-click rotation, and keyboard shortcuts to make the tracing as accurate as possible. See "Tracing" for details
Edit Points - Use the Edit Points tool to fine-tune your tracing by editing individual points that are not initially required by the structure. You can do this either while you are initially tracing the ceph, or after all structures have been placed. See "Edit Points" for details.
Visually Enhance an Image - Use the controls on the Effects section of the Main ribbon bar to visually enhance the ceph and help make finding points easier. See "Visually Enhance a Ceph" for details.
Analysis Review - You can show / hide the completed analysis directly on the traced ceph, as well as review the information in text form in the Workspace area of the SmartCeph window. See "Analysis Review" for details.
Analysis Report - The Analysis report includes a header with basic information about the patient, the analysis details from the Workspace area, a wigglegram which graphs those values, and optionally a graphic of the trace and analysis. See "Analysis Report" for details.
Superimposition - You use the SmartCeph Superimposition feature to layer and visualize different aspects and timepoints of a patient's SmartCeph images. You use the icons on the Superimposition ribbon to layer tracings, analysis, headfilms and photographs to provide you with additional treatment planning and progress data. See "Superimposition" for details about using this feature.
