HR Manager Compensation Panel

The Compensation panel of your HR Manager employee records contains data about the employee’s current and past pay rates. The dollar amounts can be seen only when you open the compensation area for editing. This prevents unauthorized persons from seeing this sensitive information by looking over your shoulder. Your HR Manager security settings determine who can view and edit this area of an employee record.

Use This Feature

Click to OpenView Compensation Panel - HR Manager employee record > Compensation. (See "HR Manager Employee Records" for details about opening employee records.) You will notice that the salary / hourly pay rate and bonus are not displayed. This prevents unauthorized persons from viewing sensitive information. You must choose to edit the panel to view these details.

Click to OpenEdit Data - Use the Compensation editing window to view current and past details, and to change employee compensation rates.

  1. Open Compensation Editor - HR Manager employee record >Employee Information ribbon bar > Edit section > Compensation.

  2. Edit Data - Enter the appropriate compensation details for this employee.

Pay Type - Select whether the employee is paid by an hourly rate, or an annual salary.

Salary / Pay Rate - Enter either the hourly pay rate, or annual salary as appropriate. You can click Delete to clear the unused rate field, if necessary.

Last Raise Date - Enter the last date the employee received a raise in pay.

Manually Update Required - The last raise date is not updated automatically when you change the pay rate. This allows you to enter a retroactive date, if needed.

Bonus - Enter the amount of the most recent bonus earned by the employee.

Save - Click to Save your changes, or click Cancel to exit editing mode without changing the record. All changes you make to the employee's salary, pay rate, or raise date are automatically recorded and tracked with the Compensation History. See "HR Manager Compensation History" for details.
