Set Up Auto Update Server

If you have multiple machines on your network, you can set up one computer to be the Auto Update Server, which receives the latest ViewPoint files directly from the Internet and saves those files at a location available to your network. The other machines on your network can then be updated quickly and efficiently from those files.

Get Started

• Confirm Auto Update Properties - Confirm that this machine is set up to download the latest ViewPoint files directly from the Internet. (See "Set Up Auto Update Properties" for details.)

How to Get Here

• ViewPoint shortcut menu > Help > Auto Update.

Choose Your Settings

• Enable the Auto Update Serveroption, so that a checkmark appears before the Auto Update Server choice.

• Run Auto Update on this machine to download a full set of the latest ViewPoint files from the Internet.

• Set up the Auto Update Properties of your other computers to download files from an Auto Update Server, naming this computer as the server to use. (See "Set Up Auto Update Properties" for details.)

Notice!

• Only one computer on your network should have the Auto Update Server option enabled.

• If you have only one computer that runs ViewPoint, leave this option disabled, and download your updates directly from the Internet.
