View Referrals

Use the View Referrals option to see the list of patients that have been referred to your practice by another patient. Click Referrals to review the patients that were referred by this party. The pop up window includes the name and entry date of each patient that was referred, and whether this is the patient's primary referrer. In addition, you see the number of primary, secondary, and total referrals made by this party.

Open Referrals Window - You can open this feature in multiple ways: Use the method that's most convenient for you.

Use This Feature

Select Referring Patient - (Not applicable when opening from a patient folder.) If a patient record is already active, that patient's information will be loaded automatically. Otherwise, you use Fast Find (either typing information or swiping a registered reward card) to search for the patient to work with.

Open Patient Folder - Double-click a name in the list of referred patients to open that patient folder.

Open Referrer Record - Click the View Referrer Record link at the top of the pop up window to open the referring patient's record in your Referrer table. This record is in addition to the patient's ViewPoint patient folder, and can be used to track information specific to his or her referral activities. See "Referrer Records" for details.

Exit Window - Click Ok when you have finished reviewing the list of referred patients.

Print a Referral Report - Run a Referral Detail report to obtain a list of referral sources and the patients they have referred to your practice. You can choose to see just a summary of the data, or a detailed list of the patients referred. See "Referral Detail & Summary Reports" for details.

View Patients for Any Referrer - You can open a record in your Referrer table including a patient-referrer, and click the View Referrals option to see the patients referred by this source. See "Referrer Records" for details.

Award Patient Reward Points for Referrals - Use the Points for referring other patients field of the patient reward triggers options to enter the number of points to award a patient each time they refer another patient to your office. The points are awarded as soon as the patient's name is entered as the Referral source of another patient. See "Patient Reward Trigger Editor" for details.
