Set Up ViewPoint Properties

Use the Main Menu Properties to set up the appearance of your ViewPoint system, select your login options, and specify where your fingerprint can be used to access certain areas of the system. You may change these settings at any time without affecting any other workstations.

You can open this feature in multiple ways: Use the method that's most convenient for you.

ViewPoint Toolbar

- $image\button_properties.gif$ Properties. (Note that you must be viewing the ViewPoint main menu for the correct properties window to open.)

ViewPoint Main Menu

- You can also right-click on the left-hand section of the main menu and select Properties.

Choose Your Settings

Main Menu Background

- Open the Background tab of your main menu properties to select an image and color scheme for your ViewPoint main menu.

Background color - Choose our Classic (teal) or Contemporary (gray) color scheme, or select Custom to choose your own background color.

Wallpaper graphic - Select the bitmap (.BMP) graphic to display behind the left-hand portion of your ViewPoint main menu from the displayed Wallpaper list. Or click Browse to select an image from a different directory,

Wallpaper format - Select how you would like your background graphic to appear: A single image centered on your screen, multiple images tiled to fill the space, or a single image stretched to fill the space.

General / Login Settings

- Open the General tab of your main menu properties to set up your login options.

Warn if ViewPoint is already loaded - Enable this option to display a warning box when you attempt to load multiple sessions of ViewPoint on a single workstation.

Log information via the Internet - An Ortho2 representative might request that you temporarily enable this option for certain diagnosis and support issues.

Set automatic log out timer - Enable this option, then select the number of minutes to wait for activity before you are logged out of the system automatically. When you change this setting, you must exit and re-enter ViewPoint for it to become effective. Note that the timer does not function while certain dialog screens are open.

Fingerprint Action

- Use the Fingerprint tab of your main menu properties to select an area of the patient folder to open when a patient presses the fingerprint sensor at your workstation. You might use this feature, for example, to quickly access a patient's treatment chart at a chair-side workstation, or to initiate posting a payment at a front-desk station. Note that each workstation can have a different action enabled as needed.

Save - Click Ok to save your changes and exit the main menu properties window, or click Apply to save the changes you have made so far without exiting.

Toolbar Icon Option

- Use Data Tool (25) - Alter Toolbar Icon Size to toggle between viewing small or large icons on your ViewPoint toolbar. Note that the change will not take place until you exit and re-enter ViewPoint. See "Use Data Tools" for details about running this tool.
