Each workstation user can choose whether to receive messages, whether to play a sound when a message is received, and create a list of often-used message templates.

You can also select Add-In, then VP Message from the ViewPoint shortcut menu. (Or, press Alt+D on your keyboard to open the Add-In menu options.)
Receive messages option - Click Options and select Receive Messages. Then choose whether to view messages as soon as they are sent to you. (The dimmed option is the current selection.) If you disable this option, you also cannot send messages to other users.
Exit / re-enter ViewPoint - If you change the setting, you must exit and re-enter ViewPoint before the change takes effect.
Message notice - If you disable messages, you will not receive notice of any pending messages. However, ViewPoint will alert you that you are not set to receive messages each time open VP Messaging. Messages that are sent to you by other users will remain as pending messages until you enable the Receive Messages option.
Sound option - Click Options and select Sounds. Then choose whether you want VP Messaging to play a sound whenever you receive a message. (The dimmed option is the current selection.)
Select sound - Choose Select and navigate to the .WAV sound file you want to hear whenever you receive a message. You can listen to a preview of the sound before you confirm your selection.
Enable / disable sound - Choose Yes or No to determine whether your selected .WAV file will play when you receive messages.
Immediate action - Your VP Messaging sound options take effect immediately.
Quick message list - Click View and select Quick Message Editor to compile up to 20 standard messages that you can quickly send over and over.
First click View and select Quick Message Editor.
Then type your standard messages.
Workstation user settings - The settings are saved by workstation user: You may change your settings at any time without affecting any other computer in your system.
System-wide setting available - You can enable / disable VP Message for your entire ViewPoint system with Data Tool (600). See "Enable / Disable VP Message " for details.
