Superimposing multiple tracings, analysis, headfilms and photographs provides you with additional treatment planning and progress data.
Superimposition ribbon bar > Superimposition.
Load saved superimposition - If you have saved a superimposition for this patient, you can select it from the Workspace window.
Select timepoints- Select the timepoints to display from the list in the Workspace window. SmartCeph scales all timepoints to the calibration of the first one you select.
Use superimposition library to line up timepoints - When you select multiple timepoints, they are automatically lined up on the plane selected from the Superimposition Library menu. You can select a different plane from the menu, or manually align the images in anyway you choose, e.g., on the cranial base, as described below.
Manually align timepoints - To move an image, select it in the timepoint list, and then click and drag the image. To rotate, right-click it and hold while moving the mouse.
Select images - Select which images to display for each timepoint. You can enable any combination of options to obtain the best image for your purposes.
Show analysis - Enable / disable this tool to add or remove the analysis from the display.
Show structures - Enable / disable this tool to determine whether structures are displayed.
Trace - Enable / disable this tool to determine whether the ceph trace is displayed. Your trace options determine whether you see landmark abbreviations when the trace is displayed. See "Set Up Trace Options" for details.
Bolton - Enable / disable this tool to add or remove the Bolton Standard from the display. See "Overlay Bolton Standard" for details about selecting and positioning a Bolton Standard.
Change image - Click this tool to progress through the background image type: ceph , photo, or none.
Transition timepoints - Use the timepoint slider to transition the focus of the display from one timepoint to the next. You can alternately enable Show All to display all timepoints at equal intensity. (Note that when Show All is enabled, the timepoint slider is disabled.)
Enlarge / reduce image - Use the zoom slider to make the ceph bigger or smaller.
Save superimposition - If you have made changes, an asterisk appears on the Superimposition tab. Click Save from the Superimposition ribbon bar, or the Quick Access toolbar, to save these changes. If this is the first time you have saved a superimposition, you are prompted for a description. When you return to the Superimposition window for this patient, you will be able to load your saved description to review and/or edit it.
Copy or print the image: Make a copy or a print-out of the current image. See "Copy & Print an Image" for details. Note that when you choose to print a superimposition, you can select to print in ABO-acceptable format.
E-mail the image: Send the current image as an e-mail attachment. The result will include an actual-size picture of the current image, including any overlays. For example, if you have displayed the tracing, analysis, and Bolton Standard template all at once, the resulting picture will include all these items. But if you disable all other features so you are only looking at the ceph, your picture will include only the ceph image. See "E-mail an Image" for details.
Load additional superimpositions - While viewing a superimposition, you can click Superimposition again to open another window, and select the timepoints and images to display in that window. You can then view each superimposed image by clicking among the tabs at the top of the window.
View superimposition in Edge Imaging - When you click Save in the Superimposition ribbon bar, or your Quick Access toolbar, to save a superimposition (as described above), a copy of the image is added to the appropriate timepoint of the patient's Edge Imaging page. You can then view the superimposition image from the Index layout, or from any layout that includes the Superimposition image type. Note that each time you save a superimposition, any existing Superimposition in that same Edge Imaging timepoint will be overwritten.
